Both Sam and Marc know that education is the first stepping stone to success. The Learning Centers were founded to help children who live in public housing and attend Title III schools get the extra help and support they need to be successful in school and in life. We currently support two SaMarc Foundation Learning Centers – one at the Wilson Apartments and a second at the Booker T. Washington Apartments. Our goal is to have a Learning Center in all eight low income housing projects in Columbus.
These Centers are under the direction of Dr. James Patrick and emphasize basic skills in Math, Reading and Reading Comprehension, helping prepare the children for the CRCT exams. They operate four days per week from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm and provide one-on-one attention to up to 18 students per Center.
