Community Legends

In 2009, the SaMarc Foundation started the Legends program to honor outstanding citizens of Columbus who have made a difference in our City.  The first honorees are:
The Honorable John D. Allen, Chief Judge of the Superior Courts, Chattahoochee Judicial Circuit; Dr. Emory Alexander, MD; Mr. Derrell Dowdell, Attorney-at-Law; Mr. Isaiah Hugley, City Manager; Ms. Lula Huff, Tax Commissioner; Mr. Steve Melton, President, CB&T; Dr. James Patrick; Mr. William Pruett, Sr. Executive Vice President, TSYS.  A reception and dinner was held in their honor at the Green Island Country Club on July 22 with formal recognition taking place during the halftime of the 1st Annual Sam Mitchell Basketball Camp All Star game on July 23.

Every year, the Foundation will spotlight five local ‘Legends’ who have made a significant impact in the community. .
